Gene Expression

TaqMan® Gene Expression Assays are primer/probe sets for quantitative gene expression analysis. Choose from over 1.3 million predesigned primer/probe sets or design your own Custom TaqMan® Gene Expression Assays.

Plate Format	This option applies only to tube-based assays. 96-well: Select this option if experiment will be run using 96-well plates. 384-well: Select this option if experiment will be run using 384 well plates	This information is used to calculate the amount of assay and master mix needed. If 96-well option is selected, 20uL reaction volume is used. For 384-well, 10uL reaction volume is used.
Chemistry	Choose from Fast or Standard chemistry.	When Fast option is selected, Fast part numbers will be recommended.
Instrument Type	Options: Any instrument, QuantStudio™ 12k Flex,7900 HT,7500 Fast, 7500, StepOne-Plus™,ViiA™ 7, 7300, NT Cycler and 7000.	Assay formats displayed depend on the block types available on the selected instrument. For example, if StepOne Plus instrument is selected, only plates and single tube assays are displayed. SNP Genotyping

TaqMan® SNP genotyping assays exploit the precision of TaqMan® probe-based chemistry for genotyping studies. Over 4.5 million human and mouse TaqMan® SNP Genotyping Assays and 2700 DME (drug metabolism enzyme) assays are available, or design your own Custom TaqMan® SNP Genotyping Assays.

MicroRNA

TaqMan® MicroRNA Assays employ a target-specific stem-loop reverse transcription primer to interrogate short length mature miRNAs. The primer extends the 3' end of the target to produce a template that can be used in standard TaqMan® Assay–based real-time PCR. TaqMan® MicroRNA Assay content is aligned to miRBase v.19; Custom TaqMan® Small RNA Assays are available for miRNAs not included in miRBase and for any other Small RNAs.

Digital PCR

Digital PCR applications such as accurate, traceable quantification of viral load, sensitive detection of mutant sequences against backgrounds of somatic wild type DN A, and GMO quality control, can be performed using the Quantstudio® 12k Flex Real-time PCR system and TaqMan® OpenArray® Digital PCR Plates.

Copy Number Variation

TaqMan® Copy Number Assays use TaqMan® probe-based chemistry for copy number variation studies. Over 1.6 million assays are available, predesigned with human, genome-wide coverage, and mouse and marker/reporter assays. Custom and Custom Plus TaqMan® Copy Number Assay options are ideal when a predesigned assay for a target is not available.

Mutation Detection

TaqMan® Mutation Detection Assays employ Competitive Allele-Specific TaqMan® PCR (castPCR™) technology to detect and quantitate rare sequences in a background of common sequence by specifically blocking amplification of all but the rare-sequence variants.

Product Options

This page displays all product options for the application and instrument selected on input page.

For a given product type, the tool evaluates all package sizes and recommends the most optimal size based on cost.

The list is sorted by price from the lowest to the highest.

Field	Description
Cost Summary	Cost Summary table shows a price summary of all product options grouped by assay format (Tubes, Plates, Cards and OpenArray®). The table also acts as a filtering mechanism to view all products of a specific format. For example, clicking Tubes filters the products list and only shows tube-based assays.
Lowest Cost Option	Lowest cost product option for the specified experiment. Clicking on the product name shows details of the product option.
Fastest Workflow Option	Product that offers fastest time to results (or the least amount of time spent in the workflow). Clicking on the product name shows details of the product option.
Sort by Price/time	Allows sorting of the product list in ascending order of price or workflow time.
Graph view	This is a bar graph of product prices or workflow time by assay format.
Discounts	Enables the application of discounts to products by product type. For example, changing Assay discount will apply the specified discount to all assay products. All prices are updated in real-time with the specified discounts.
Minimum quantity warning	If the number of units calculated by the tool for the specified experiment inputs is less than the minimum purchase quantity for the product, a warning message is displayed with a yellow triangle icon. For example, if the user specifies 24 targets and 3 samples for a gene expression experiment, only one TaqMan® Array Plate is required to meet the experiment needs, but the tool recommends 6 units, which is the minimum purchase quantity.
Total price	This is the total price for all products included in the product option. Products included vary by product option and format, but at a minimum, assays and master mix are included.
Price per reaction	Price per reaction is calculated by dividing the total price by the total number of reactions derived from number of targets, samples and replicates specified in the experiment inputs. This calculation does not take into account utilizing all usable quantity purchased.
Price per sample	Price per sample is calculated by dividing the total price by number of samples specified in experiment inputs. This calculation does not take into account utilizing all usable quantity purchased.
Number of units	Number of units is calculated by considering the following factors: Total number of reactions Optimal package size Optimal product format (for example, the right plate format based on the number of genes for TaqMan® Array Plates)
